November 11, 2013 10:58 AM
Silver Spring, MD: November 11, 2013
On Veterans Day, 2013, the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) honors America’s military and veterans for their service. Music therapy was founded in the U.S. as a profession through service to veterans. Music therapists around the country continue to serve our military, their families, and veterans. The Annual Conference of the AMTA scheduled to take place November 21-24, 2013 in Jacksonville, FL will feature a special event on music therapy and the military. Please join AMTA to hear Commander Moira McGuire, NC, USPHS and Major James Henry, M.D. of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Donna Faraone, MPA, CPHQ of Veterans Affairs present at a special plenary session event beginning November 22 at 3:45pm. AMTA’s esteemed panelists will highlight trends regarding integrative services and music therapy interventions with military populations and veterans.
