AMTA Represented at the American Psychological Association Conference

Immediate Past President Jennifer Geiger participated on a panel of Creative Arts Therapists at the American Psychological Association annual conference in San Francisco on August 9, 2018. Organized by Bill O’Brien of ​the National Endowment of the Arts, the panel included (as pictured): Laura Wood, President, North American Drama Therapy Association; Gioia Chilton, Art Therapist; Jennifer Geiger, Immediate Past President, American Music Therapy Association; Ronna Kaplan, MA, MT-BC, Chair, National Coalition of Creative Arts Therapies Associations; Donna Betts, Immediate Past President, American Art Therapy Association; Rebecca Wilkinson, Art Therapist; Jeffrey Smith, cochair; Bill O’Brien, Director of Creative Forces, NEA; Ilene Serlin, President, American Dance Therapy Association. The presentation was titled: “Consulting, Collaboration, and Credentialing: Psychologists Partnering with Creative Arts Therapists,” with the aim of educating participants about the role creative arts play in health and wellness, and how to access resources for clients.
