AMTA Retains Purposeful Hire, Inc. to Conduct Executive Director Search

LotzarShireSilver Spring, MD - The AMTA Board of Directors has retained the services of association executive search firm, Purposeful Hire, Inc. to conduct the search for AMTA’s next Executive Director. The search will be led by Shira Lotzar, Chief Engagement Officer, who brings 25 years of association search experience and a background in DEI training, executive coaching, and culture building. Her holistic approach to executive search is informed by her commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. This manifests in her comprehensive examination of the cultural nuances of each association client prior to the recruitment process. The Board selected Lotzar, in particular, because she recognized the pivotal juncture in AMTA’s history, which she says, “will require an inclusive lens to incorporate diverse perspectives from AMTA’s member cohorts into the search process.”

To support her inclusive approach, Lotzar will kick off the search in March 2020 with a wide array of stakeholder interviews from diverse AMTA segments including, but not limited to, Board and key volunteer leaders, staff, affinity groups and allied individuals. Candidates interviews with the AMTA search committee are expected to commence in late Spring with a final hire in the Summer. The new Executive Director should be in place prior to the November Annual Meeting.
