Celebrating 30 Years of Service to the Music Therapy Profession

Celebrating Dr. Andrea Farbman, AMTA Executive Director

AMTA is thrilled to be celebrating Dr. Farbman’s 30 years of dedicated service to the American Music Therapy Association and the music therapy profession. She will retire from her position as AMTA Executive Director as of December 31, 2018.  Andi will be honored in a series of events at our upcoming annual conference in Dallas, Texas next month:

  • The Board of Directors will host a dinner in her honor.

  • Dr. Farbman will be honored at AMTA’s Opening Ceremony on Thursday, November 15th at 7:30 pm and will be available in the AMTA Village in the Exhibit Hall following Opening Ceremony.  She will also attend the President’s Reception at 10:30 pm that evening.

  • Dr. Farbman and Dr. Deforia Lane will present a Joint Keynote address on Friday, November 16th from 9:30 am – 10:30 am.

  • A fund has been created in Dr. Farbman’s honor, the "Andrea Farbman Government Relations Advocacy Fund."   Donations can be made at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/FarbmanFund
