In honor of the upcoming World Congress of Music Therapy, Music Therapy Perspectives and the Journal of Music Therapy presents a virtual collection. In July 2026, clinicians, students, educators, and scholars gather in Bologna, Italy for the triennial World Congress of Music Therapy.

The theme of this year’s 18th World Congress, Connecting Borders: Creating Networks and Enhancing Identities through Music Therapy, celebrates relationships and networks across borders, cultures, languages, and clinical practices. In so doing, music therapy scholars continue to advance scholarship, knowledge, and clinical practices in music therapy.

The World Congress is an opportune time to reflect upon our many multinational scholarly  works. To that end, the Lead Editors of Music Therapy Perspectives and the Journal of Music Therapy curated a virtual issue of peer reviewed articles authored by scholars and practitioners throughout the world. Readers are encouraged to visit the journal websites and browse the content.
