AMTA is pleased to announce the launch of Music Therapy Intern Supervision: A Training E-course for Intern Supervisors. This new AMTA E-course was developed by Jane Creagan and AMTA’s Association Internship Approval Committee with instructors Mary Jane Landaker, Matthew Phillips, Kay Luedtke-Smith, Andrea Scheve, Amy Smith, Lauren DiMaio, Gina Kelly, and Eve Montague. This self-study AMTA Internship Supervision E-course is designed to provide information to anyone interested in learning more about the music therapy internship process and to provide official training for board certified music therapists interested in supervising music therapy students in AMTA internship programs. Successful completion of this e-course also provides 5 CMTE credits from American Music Therapy Association - CBMT Approved Provider #P-051 - and fulfills the requirement for internship supervision training for National Roster Internship Directors.

As Jane Creagan, AMTA’s Director of Professional Programs, said, “Music therapy intern supervisors and their agencies provide a very valuable service to the profession of music therapy by helping students build a solid clinical foundation leading to a long and rewarding professional career.” As the field of music therapy grows, we need more music therapy internship directors to help in the clinical training process and this AMTA e-course is one tool for making that happen.

Order your user-friendly AMTA e-course and receive everything you need to listen and learn at your leisure:

  1. Audio Links. The core of the AMTA E-courses is the speaker sharing their expertise and practical information to enhance your practice.  You will find a link for each e-course to audio files and any other important documents in the first pages of the E-course Workbook.
  2. E-course Workbook. The e-course workbook is a .pdf document includes discussion outline, references, links, and other valuable resources related to the topic. After purchase, you may download the e-course workbook from your account on the AMTA website as many times as you need for up to one year after the purchase date. Once you download the e-course workbook to your local computer, it is yours to keep. After you make your e-course purchase and follow the instructions to check out and pay, you will need to download the e-course workbook by logging in on the AMTA website, then going to My Account>My Transactions>My Downloadable Products.
