Please Remember AMTA on #GivingTuesday and in Your Year-End Giving Plans

In the US, we have Thanksgiving, which is dedicated to giving thanks, and we have two days devoted to getting “deals.”  Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back.  On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, charities, families, communities, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

It’s a simple idea. See if you can find a way to give something and then tell everyone you can about how you are giving.  The AMTA Board of Directors and the AMTA national office staff have all donated to AMTA this year—please join us and be part of this global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.

Here are some highlights of what your generous donations made possible this year:

  • disaster relief assistance for members who suffered losses around the country
  • 20 scholarship and grant programs providing opportunities for deserving students and professionals
  • NIH Forum to educate key decision-makers about the importance of music therapy
  • supporting music therapy program and job development such as the new partnership with the military, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Department of Health and Human Services

Your donations make a difference in how quickly we can act!. AMTA is a tax exempt, 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and to the extent allowable by the IRS, your donations are tax deductible; you can donate to any fund you wish in the AMTA online store
