The American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), in response to the impressive growth and expansion of the "Journal of Music Therapy" (JMT), is pleased to announce a change in the journal’s editorial structure and duties. The journal seeks applicants for open positions to join an expanded editorial team.

As a reminder, AMTA is receiving applications for the positions of Editor-in-Chief for its two journals, JMT and MTP. The application period will extend through Friday, May 26 5:00pm ET to allow interested parties at academic institutions extra time around the busy end of semester. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact the Co-Chairs of the Editor-in-Chief Selection Committee, Drs. Mary Adamek (mary-adamek@uiowa.edu) and Michele Forinash (forinasm@lesley.edu), with questions.

The American Music Therapy Association is pleased to announce a call for proposals for the 2016-2017 Clinician-Based Grant (CBG). The CBG program supports applied research grants in music therapy with funding up to $5,000.

Congratulations to Dr. Joke Bradt (Drexel University) and her colleagues Dr. Cheryl Dileo (Temple University), Dr. Lucanne Magill (New York University) and Aaron Teague (Drexel University) for the publication of their updated Cochrane review: ‘Music Interventions for improving psychological and physical outcomes in cancer patients’. The update is highlighted as a feature review on the main website of the Cochrane Collaboration (www.cochrane.org).

AMTA's "Journal of Music Therapy" (JMT) currently is featuring an issue on arts based research. Guest Editor, Dr. Jane Edwards coordinated the special issue and is highlighted in an interview published by the Oxford University Press blog site.
