AMTA 2018-2019 Term Officer Election voting is ongoing and ends December 21, 2017 at 11:59 pm Eastern Time. All AMTA members who are eligible to vote should check the email account that is marked as “primary” on your AMTA membership for instructions and a link to the online ballot. Be sure to check spam/junk folders and whitelist amta-voting@balloteer.com.

Music therapy clinician/scholars will speak on research & working with military populations at the Creative Forces Clinical Research Summit, September 18-19, 2017 at the National Academies of Science in Washington, DC. The event is an opportunity to gather world-renowned experts to discuss clinical approaches to creative arts therapies, culminating in a conversation about a research agenda for the next five years as part of the Creative Forces: NEA Military Healing Arts Network.

One of the most important things you do each year as a music therapist and member of AMTA is complete the annual AMTA Survey. Please go to the following url no later than September 1, 2017 and enter your survey responses at a time that is most convenient for you. Help us draw an accurate picture of the music therapy profession.
 
AMTA worked with three national coalitions - including sixty (60) national rehabilitation and disability organizations - to host a Congressional briefing on the value of rehabilitation and habilitation services and devices. As Congress considers health care reform, it is critical that people with injuries, illnesses, and disabilities have continued access to rehabilitative and habilitative care.
