Google Universal CASA has been enabled across the Oxford Academic platform as of 12th March. This extends the implementation of Universal CASA across all OUP journals. CASA, or Campus Activated Subscriber Access, enables Google Scholar users from subscribing institutions like universities and libraries to access their subscription content even when they are not on campus. Universal CASA extends this capability beyond Google Scholar to ensure a seamless access journey is possible wherever a user starts their research journey. Implementation has been accelerated to allow easy access during this time of international crisis. COUNTER-5 Statistics: Users accessing content via CASA are counted as part of that institution’s usage and will be included in COUNTER-5 statistics. User Experience: Users will need to initially access content on their device while on campus to enable CASA to work remotely. However, if a user signs into their university or library network and uses Google Scholar, then comes back another day, off-network, and tries to access OUP content, CASA will enable that access.
